Masters of Magic ~ Ed Marlo.

Ed Marlo. I study his work constantly.

I could talk about Marlo for hours but let me highlight a few points as to why his magic is so special.

Marlo has contributed more to the craft than anyone else in history, his technical, precise and perfection driven approach with cards, although not exclusively, acquired him the name “The Cardician”.

Marlo NEVER stopped thinking, he would create, practice, perform and publish constantly in order to achieve the strongest effect and most direct method possible. He would often publish countless methods on the same plot, often scattered across the literature. This was not an attempt at taking over the literature, this was Marlo offering us, the students, options and alternatives to take our magic and studies to the next level. In order to strive for the most direct effect possible. He knew what made strong magic STRONG and saw the effect from the audience’s view.

Marlo was a master enhancer, he could take a move or routine and enhance it tremendously, later publishing it for us students to study, in order to better the craft - the quantity AND quality of his work is phenomenal, spanning over 60 books, countless articles and thousands of tricks!

By studying Marlo, you will take a trip through the 40’s all the way through to the 90’s and experience the craft transform in the process - Marlo’s work is the perfect study for the historians amongst you, as well as the sleight of hand enthusiast and professional performer.

To quote Jon Racherbaumer ~ “Vernon gave us form, Marlo gave us formulae.”

I could talk about Marlo for HOURS, stay tuned for more blogs on Marlo and other masters in the future.

Until next time,

Matt
